Help Scouts mark 100 years of movement

SOUTHPORT District Scouts and Cubs are inviting former members to join them in a global celebration of 100 years of Scouting.
‘Scouting Sunrise’ will be a worldwide remembrance of the movement, exactly 100 years to the minute Robert Baden-Powell commenced the first ever camp.

Sale supports eco project

MEMBERS of Tarleton Holy Trinity Primary School’s eco committee organised a spring- clean to raise money towards the school’s supergrounds project.
The project is to develop an environmentally friendly outdoor learning area, and is sponsored by NatWest bank. The school has already been successful in being awarded a £1,000 grant.

A FITNESS instructor is setting up his own business in a bid to tackle obesity in the area.

Craig Baxter, 23, will offer advice on nutrition and fitness through an educational programme he says will encourage people to change their lifestyles.

WEST Lancashire businessman Gerald Consett has given up the chance of a lifetime in sunny Spain – so he can restore a real ale pub to its former glory.

The Legh Arms village pub in Tarleton was one of the area's busiest country pubs, and this is what Mr Consett dreams it can become once more.
