About us
The Association of Wrens is still having fun.
The association was formed in 1917 - 90 years ago this year - by a group of ex-Wrens
who felt that the friendships they had made and the spirit of the Wrens should be kept alive.
Many years later, that same ideal is still upheld by almost 8,000 women where no distinction is made between rating and officer - just to enjoy something unique and worthwhile.
The Southport Association have been in operation for 18 years this year.
Every year we celebrate our birthday, Trafalgar Day, and all the church services to remember those who fell during the wars.
We have speakers and trips to the theatre and other activities. We would welcome any past members of the Wrens who live near enough to visit us at the Conservative Club, 20 Bath Street, Southport.
We meet on the second Wednesday of every month. Drinks and sandwiches can be purchased if you have travelled, and of course, there is a cuppa and a biscuit with a £1 entry fee.
Meetings start at 1pm.
