Southport Bach Choir's season is over for the summer. June 16th saw a super performance of Vivaldi and JS Bach. The orchestra was, as usual excellent and the choir in good voice. The large audience certainly went home with smiles on their faces.
Now for a few weeks' rest.
Rehearsals start again on the FIRST THURSDAY OF SEPTEMBER at the Parish Centre of Holy Trinity Church, Hoghton St., opposte the YMCA, at 8.00pm.
The first major work is to be Bach's Mass in B minor. This will be performed on Saturday, 8th December 2007, with professional soloists and with the internationally acclaimed "Orchestra of the Golden Age". This will be our fourth concert with them. The others were: Bach's St John Passion, Christmas Oratorio and Monteverdi's Vespers. All these concerts received wide critical acclaim across the North of England. We hope to achieve the same again!

I read this quote recently and it really applies to us, I hope: "Quality is never produced by accident- it is always the product of intelligence and effort"
