Cricket Success for Kew Woods Primary School

Posted by Kew Wood School on June 17, 2007 7:33 PM |

Kew Woods Primary School, who were already Southport champions, took part in the " Sefton Final " against Bedford Primary at Bootle Cricket Club.

The team again performed well in the field, restricting Bedford Primary to 233 runs. We needed 234 runs to win and go on to represent Sefton at Old Trafford. A super batting display followed with some great shots, including numerous sixes. All the team batted well and scored a massive 300 runs !!

Kew Woods are now Sefton Kwik Cricket champions ( for the 2nd year running ) and will take part in the Lancashire Finals at Old Trafford on Thursday 28th June. This is the second year on the run that we have had a team representing Sefton at Old Trafford and last year the team went all the way to the National Finals at Trent Bridge.
