At 10.30pm on Friday 18th May 2007, 900 women lit up the streets of Southport as they took part in the first ever Star Trekk walk, raising money for Queenscourt Hospice. The 11km walk that started at the Eco Centre attracted women of all ages, they were entertained by Dune Fm and took part in a warm up session with instructors from LA Fitness, before Lucy Hansen local catwalk model and daughter of Alan Hansen, set the walk off !
Apart from the wind, the bad weather held off and the women created an amazing atmosphere amongst themselves as they headed out as far as Churchtown. On route LA Fitness and the Methodist church both provided refreshments and toiltet facilities and before the women knew it they were back at the Eco Centre collecting a goody bag, medal and heading home to bed!
