Formby Chess Club's First Team were awarded the trophy and medals for winning the Second Division Title during the 2006-7 season, at the Merseyside Chess Association's Annual General Meeting at Aigburth People's Hall last night.
This win will be celebrated during the club's AGM which will be held at the Royal Hotel on Liverpool Road in Formby at 8pm on Thursday May 31st 2007.
In addition to the presentation of this trophy to Bob Platt, he will receive the club championship board for the eleventh time.
All members and potential members are welcome to attend the AGM, and to join us at 7.30 pm each Tuesday during the summer season at the Royal Hotel, on Liverpool Road in Formby.
