Just some additional info. on this initial post. As the Organiser of the, dare I say it, 'world-famous' Bothy, I need to point out that our new venue is a private Members Club and as such, we in turn have to be members. If you're not already a Bothy goer, there is little formality to 'signing up' and joining us - 'phone (0151.924.5078) or email us and I'll be pleased to give you all the gen. We like to think of ourselves as not just a music club - more a way of life and we feature folk and acoustic-based music to suit all tastes. Don't forget, we're the Club that turned down Paul Simon in 1965 (for all the right reasons)!!!! but also used to book Barbara Dickson long before 'Blood Brothers.' - again for all the right reasons!

We've decided to run a series of informal Singarounds over the official Summer break this year twixt 22nd July and 1st Sept. as it seems you lot just can't get enough of us. There'll always be someone 'official' to run things and we'll see how this experiment goes. Strawhead and Ciaran Algar close out the formal programme this Sunday (15th July) and The John Dipper Band pick up the baton again on 8th Sept. Do visit www.bothyfolkclub.co.uk to find out what all the fuss is about - if you aren't already aware that right here in your town, you have a little gem of a music club that is known and valued worldwide. Oh, you knew that already huh?

Just a reminder to Bothy-goers that we start formal Autumn events with the fab. John Dipper Band tomorrow night. Anyone wanting info. on Membership and the programme generally is welcome to call me on 0151.924.5078.
Suffice to say that we've got the usual excellent season lined up and that we continue to fly the flag for folk, acoustic and all-round good music in Southport that first fluttered up the pole in 1965!
Try us if you don't believe me!
