What we do: Light for Life is a registered charity, based in Southport, that was founded in 1990 by a group of local Christians who realised there was a homelessness problem in the town. The charity began by working with young homeless people between the ages of 16-25. Since then, the charity has developed and grown and has a number of services, not just for the homeless and not just for under 25s. We now:
Work with the socially excluded, vulnerable and homeless
Light for life provide advice, support and training, seeking to empower, enable the homeless and to bring an end to homelessness.
The immediate future, Light for Life are now looking at the use of their head office and intend to refurbish part of the building to provide flats for rent.
In the longer term, Light for Life want to develop an Intermediate Labour Market initiative to provide income for the charity and work experience for our clients.
